FIA WEC 1812 Km of Qatar 26/02-28/02/2025

Lusail International Circuit

Just north of Doha in Lusail, Qatar, the Lusail International Circuit stands as a major venue for global motorsport, hosting key series such as Formula 1, MotoGP, and FIA WEC.

Originally built in 2004 with a focus on motorcycle racing, this 5.419-kilometre track has since become a vital destination for car racing as well. Its impressive main straight, over a kilometre in length, provides the ideal setup for thrilling high-speed battles.

The Qatar Grand Prix made its Formula 1 debut at Lusail International Circuit in 2021, stepping in for the Australian Grand Prix, which had been cancelled due to the pandemic. This first-ever F1 race in Qatar saw Lewis Hamilton claim victory, with Max Verstappen finishing in second place.

The Grand Prix was paused in 2022 to accommodate the FIFA World Cup in Qatar but returned in 2023 under a new long-term contract, securing its spot on the Formula 1 calendar for years to come. Uniquely, the race is one of the few fully nighttime events in the F1 lineup, offering a dramatic backdrop for high-octane racing.

In 2024, the circuit hosted its inaugural FIA WEC race, with the Porsche 963 #6, driven by Kévin Estre, André Lotterer, and Laurens Vanthoor, taking the victory.
